Is there any difference??? ... or just re-wording to make a sale and raise the price, why can we not just have the wording ...it's a copy ...if the car is worth the asking price then the buyer and seller will be both happy

What will be the next IN word to sell something that is a copy

Replica, copy and the degrading word fake basically all mean the same thing, that it is some form of a copy but certainly not original. It all depends on how good a copy it is. It might be just cosmetic and nothing else or it can be a highly accurate copy in every detail which may be of more interest. Whatever a copy is though, it's definately not original and can't be valued the same as an original either!

When you talk about body swaps then that is a very different and very debateable subject, discussed many times in the past on here. Working at a main dealer during the 70's, I used to reshell accident damaged cars with brand new replacement shells "off the shelf". These were never considered as fakes afterwards, but reshelling with an up spec second hand shell could be and could open a big can of worms in the future for someone!
