With Heritage, I added at various times to the car, A 2.2, A Tran X type 9, Ronals, Cibies, Salisbury LSD, Twin 48's, WCXM etc. There was never a hike in the premium for any of these.
You also get an Agreed value certificate (If valued by a club) which states in the event of anything happening, you WILL get the sum of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Some companies say in their small print that in the event of a total loss claim they will pay "UP TO" the agreed value.

An insurance company are only as good as their record of paying out in the unfortunate event of a total loss. Heritage did this to the penny. So, I will stay with them as I have peace of mind.

        Hope this helps.
Thanks for the help, unfortunately I have to stay with A/F until next year, but I will heed your advice and I will be contacting them, touch wood I never have to make a claim.Regards Gixer1000.

Adrian F**ks ooops Flux Insurance. My advise is AVOID like the plague. They do not even stand by their own paperwork let alone anyone elses. Their agreed valuations are an absolute joke that they devalue as soon as they have your money. They devalued my car by over £4000 from the agreed valuation at policy inception, they sent me a hand written confirmation sheet with the original valuation on it and then followed it up with a printed certificate £4000 down . The only way they would increse it was for me at my cost to take my car to one of their own recommended valuers and also pay for this valuation for them to then consider if they would change it. I would never use them again even if they were to offer me free for life insurance cover on any of my cars. I would rather pay a company I feel I could trust. Rant over lol

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

I've always been of the opinion that insurance valuation on agreed value policies should be higher than a market value. To replace a classic car that is a total loss like for like isn't as straight forward as picking up Autotrader and buying one. You need to be compensated for your time effort and the cost of finding said replacement.

I think maybe people confuse insured value with market value? Hence why you see so many RS advertise at silly high numbers because the seller believes the club valuation is its market value. I may be wrong but its how it works in the antique world.

There are some cars around that are pretty much irreplaceable due to provenance and history etc...that's hard to find regardless of budget.
