  • What it's all about.

After seeing my neighbours MK2 I left most impressed. Valuable and well looked after. An RS with a 2.0L pinto'd all the carbs and camsand a dealerfitted x-pack.
He insisted on absolutley bombing up and down his farms stone lanes completely sideways.
Sitting there beside him I just had a reality check. These machines were never made to go to shows but by god they were made to go sideways.

I just think sometimes people get too caught up in what other people think about their MK2 and should just get into it and rake about the roads until the police catch up.

Ban trailers from shows. If you can't drive it there then what's the point in having it?

mine gets driven everyday, i fill it up with rubbish to take the tip, gets the dogs thrown in it and taken the park, gets taken to car boots, and gets filthy.

you get a lot more satisfatcion driving the car everyday, and seeing the looks you get compared to once a month whens its sunny and its being pushed round on a trailer.

oldskool fords for daily's is what its all about (unless its 'really' spangley, in which case, ill let you off!)

A bit awkward driving mine as it has Slicks fitted - so I use my truck or trailer !

As for driving it - there are plenty on here who have sampled my "driving" lol lol lol

Here we go, i dont agree, i think theres a good discussion of why there should be all types of mk2,s, in all kinds of condition, i love seeing, mk 2 being driven on the road, albeit incredibly rare, cars being neutrally drifted and cars like Neil,s where people can spend time gauping at them as if they are "trophys", i think i can respcect each to their own and why they,ve chosen to go down one particular route, having said that it seems very popular to build a "show car" and then sell it because theres no enjoyment, again their decision, doesn,t seem like theres much middle ground, ah well, get back underneath Worthers !!!!!!!!!!! i think there a square milimetre ive left; lol

you can do both, in the summer, just a
lot of work, worn out fingers and
                        polish and cloths, especially when
most shows are 3 to 4 hours from us.
but hey thats all part of the fun
