words used by the owner when I phoned him ! I know your coming a long way and I assure you, you wont be dissapointed ( oh how wrong was he it was a) !!! needed passenger wheel arch 2 new wings roof had loads of dents and the back panel was shot

to make matters worse, even if I had wanted it and he knew I was on the way as I hponed him to make sure, he sold the bloody thing before I arrived

sorry to hear you were messed about Brian, but unfortunately some people dont have a clue but think they do. We have all been there before. I travelled 6hrs on a winters day to Shropshire to buy a so called mint mk2 mex. I didnt even chap the guys door, a walk around the car was enough, got back in the car a headed north for 6 hrs again. What a downer that was. Big johnnie and Gary have had the same experiences also.
The thing is, you have to keep trying because one day it really be a "minter" and it will all be worthwhile.

How times have changed from the 70's when vehicle condition was described in the range poor-fair-good-excellent, now "mint" seems to be the equivalent of fair!

Brian, have you viewed the RS2000 that BGB Cars in Millisle have advertised, reading the ad it must almost be concours but somehow I suspect not.

Some guys just deal in MK2's and couldn't give a shit as long as they get a turn out of them. I know a couple who would tell you anything just to get a sale and they advertise quite often in the Autotrader.

They are out there Brian. When a neighbour seen my mk2 go up the road he said have you ever seen so and so's.

I went over tonight and this is what he pulled out of the shed covered in dust



Owned from new, original purchase invoice and every MOT. Car is as it came from factory. Even a set of snow tyres. A real treat. You just don't know what's around the corner.

I have seen one in millisle and it was a dog too RSKars also had a look filled in sunroof then covered with a Vinyl NICE

BGB car I have not seen yet but its been advetised over here for a few months now so I would not hold out much hope, might go and look for a laugh next week

know how you feel brian.
went to look at a "good" rs2 rolling shell last week. only needing minor welding he said. got there and there was a very bare shell needing major surgery.no trim,no doors,no wings on it,no engine,no glass, wiring or anything. and he wanted very good money for it.good job it was only local to me, could of decked him.
