For me, it's old school stock, or with period mods.
Though I do like a YB in a Mk1/Mk2 which I'm guessing is seen as new-old? I'll defend that though as it's basically a modified pinto...
I tried new-old with my first ever Mk1... EFi engine, electric windows, de-locked, remote locking, Escort Mk4 Recaros... I basically ruined it
I understand why people go for things like Zetecs and S2000 engines, and I appreciate it, but it's not for me. It takes away the essence of old Fords IMO. It should take a few cranks to start while you've got your fingers crossed, and shouldn't idle like a limo, and it should be noisy when you plant your right foot!

Im old School myself and theres nothing better than a car that has loads of period or period looking mods!! when it comes to a road car. pinto, warrior or bd and nothing else bearing in mind im a Mk2 man. I do love the look of a white mk1 rs16 with 7x13 mags and a few period trinkets
I also like the grp4 look but it would have to look as period as poss from the outside with all the modern tech under the skin, big modern AP's, Tractive, rear anti roll bar and proflex ect, engine wise it would have to be millington as first choice. Not into the really modern plastic look of some grp4 cars.

When's a mod not a mod as it could be classed as a upgrade or a optional extra, wheels tyres, carbs, suspension, brakes, decales, xpack, body spoiler,as long as it's period to that era I think it's exceptable so old or new skool as long it's a ford I love emOld escorts, better than a pension plan.
