DWW 515T from RAC site should be:

        Vehicle details
        Manufacturer FORD
        Model ESCORT RS
        Body type 2 DOOR SALOON
        Colour WHITE
        Fuel type PETROL
        Date manufactured 31 December 1978
        Number of previous owners 11
Last owner change 31 July 2004

        But DVLA says 1993cc:

The vehicle details for DWW 515T are:

        Date of Liability 01 10 1991
        Date of First Registration 24 11 1978
        Date of Last V5 Issue 08 07 2005
        Year of Manufacture 1978
        Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1993CC
        CO2 Emissions Not Available
        Fuel Type Petrol
        Export Marker Not Applicable
        Vehicle Status Unlicensed
        Vehicle Colour WHITE

That's just what the reg plate tells you though.....

            Could be.

            Still worth £6k+ even if.

p.s. last RS1800 was Sept. 1977 - This car was registered in late 1978. Engine capacity 1993cc means it's not a Mex.

            Hmmmmm...............

...and it looks like it was registered before it was even made! (though I suspect no-one was actually working at Ford over the Xmas break that year)
                Cheers

This should not be used as a way to tell an 18 from a mex etc. It depends on where the car was made

The mex / rs1800 ??? also has large strut top mounts on a 1978 shell?????? an early 1800 built from one of the sport shells would have that bracket all the others would have the rs one

                      cheers Andy

The bracket is dependant on the "shell" Ford found at the time to build the RS 1800. It will be in the 1.1L base location on some and the mex location on others.

there are plenty of chancers out there alrite.....his add says its an RS1800 concorse, not a mex rep with RS1800 stickers......it aint worth that, Tango could be bought for that kind of money & that has a cossie in it with plenty of history etc etc.... if ur at Catlebellingham on sunday im sure you will hear of a few cars for sale at that
