MK2 In Scrap yard

After visiting a scrap yard today to look for a spare wheel for my work van... to my surprise there was a MK2 2 door Escort sat there!

I ask the guy how much for the whole car and he said he wanted $600 for it.

The only rust I could find was in one rear arch, it did have a couple of plates welded in but really nothing that couldnt be fixed easy.

It had a 1.6 X flow in it that still ran...It was a 1976 model so has the petrol tank in the boot and not underneath like must Aussie model Mk2's..

Should I go back and get it as not really into Mk2's...
