Advice needed Ive got a chance to buy an Escort Harrier its silver no sun roof Hpi clear full mot its very good over all condition 6 owners rebuilt 1760 engine fast road cam lowered he wants 3k for it but needs a little paint in places seats need retrim new head lining and carpet little play on diff do you think its worth the money hes going to send me more pics going to see it next saturday the ford fair weekend . Going Ford Fair on sunday to see whats about what would i pay for a Harrier that is mint

i,ve got one too but i think any nice two door thats a bit sporty is worth that, i have spent that amount just getting the shell sorted,just check the normal rot spots that there is nothing major,

Been looking into it and seen a lot of mk2 making good money on ebay im going to try and get price down a bit because of trim if i got it for 2600 i think that would be better ill let you no how i get on

Just make sure you get it well checked as there are plenty of dogs out there polished up

Body work is normally pretty obvious if done badly but the engine will need a real look over.

Bored to 1760 is on the edge and I'd be surprised if she's not taking in water or giving out oil.

Get a boney finger and after removing the oil filler cap, run your finger on the inside of the rocker cover. If ok it will be pure black. If grey at all its a water mix.

Likewise remove the radiator cap and run your finger along the inside of the radiator.

Just looking at the cap or the dipstick won't tell you dick as they are too easily wiped.

All that said and done you can pick up a block cheap enough.......I'm sure.................somewhere or other...................maybe?
