  • Mk2 escort valuation

Who can value my car ? im just afraid that if anything ever happned to it i wont be able to replace it for what its insured for its a 16 sport modified

  • #4
If you join the relevant car club.
In your case the Sporting escort Owners Club would be most appropriate.

They will have a member of their committee who values cars.

According to http://www.seoc.co.uk/priceguide.htm here are their latest published valuations

Dangerous practise for us all when a "club" posts up outdated prices

Insurance companies will be able to use the info as "evidence of market value" when deciding on claim payouts

Each valuation must be carried on an individual vehicle basis and not a generic "price guide list"

          Class 3 £2500

Class 1: Vehicles not requiring much work are still increasing
Class 2 & 3: Vehicles particularly those requiring panel work are hardly moving

As a recognised authority with Insurance companies the following price guide has been compiled to help enthusiasts obtain Insurance cover. The RS 2000 continues to rise in value, dramatically over the past few months, all models have shown increases brought about by the rarity of the RS version. We hope you find it both informative and useful.

Please note: Concours condition vehicles particularly the RS versions will attract higher prices and as a club we could only value these by sight.

I can't recommend this enough. Get a bonafide club valuation. If they don't know your car then it has to be a visual valuation. For your car then it is definitely the Sporting Escort Owners club. They will have someone who can give you an up to date valuation & provide you with with the relevant paperwork to prove. This you will need to give to your insurer in order to gain a non-contestable agreed valuation which should also come with a certificate.
Little tip though, Read the small print in your insurance documents re - agreed value. Some insurers have it that they will pay "Up to" the agreed value & not the "Sum of".
I am insured with Heritage. When YUE decided to destroy itself last year I had the agreed value certificate which stated "The sum of £xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx will be paid in the event of a total loss claim"

              Kind regards, Kevin

                  The perfect attitude

Yep, Contact them & I'm sure that there will be someone near you.

It really is worth it's weight in gold if the worst ever happens. I unfortunately went through it all last year. A so called "private valuation" IE - yourself is not good enough, even on an agreed policy & would be contested if the time ever came. (Inside information)
