  • Beware ebay seller michaele 3199

I bought an item in October (pod & clock) for MK2 RS from the above seller. Item was stated to be in perfect working order and immaculate. When item was received I noticed that the clock did not work. On contacting michaele 3199 he told me to return the item for a full refund. (£80+) Item was sent Recorded and no refund was received. Michaele 3199 refused to reply. Since then he has not been selling anything on ebay until today. He is now selling items again today along with a pod but with no clock, a coincidence or what? I sent michaele 3199 another message asking about my refund today and he is now stating that the item was damaged by me! He will now not respond to any messages. Thought I would let you all know how I got conned. Paid for an item, sent it back, so now he has the item plus payment. Any advice would be appreciated.

I did but you only have so long for them to take action. That is another reason he did not reply to me he knows the system.

Surely if you contact Ebay or probably PayPal and can prove item was delivered then you're in the clear?

Is this the seller who is (also) selling parts under his girl-friends name?

If you have not submitted a claim in time on Ebay or paypal your credit card company will refund you in full and claim the payment back from the seller. You will have to provide them with all relevant emails proof of postage etc.
I had a problem with a seller last year and they dragged it out until ebay or paypal would not refund me, buy I got my money back through Visa. Best of luck Paul.

That is, of course, bad luck. I usually try to scan ebay and my messages and e-mails every 3-4 days if on holiday. You never know what could happen in your absence. And with people wanting an immediate response, it's dead easy to end up in trouble, even if it's not your fault...

It's probably best to simply send stuff at a higher cost, recorded, insured etc to cover yourself.
