The bedroom tax is aimed at social housing, it's a way of making people live in the correct size house, 3 Somalians living in a ten bed mansion will be down sized to the correct size property, like wise, average joe with 3 kids in a one bed flat will hopefully be allocated a larger property.

As I understand it this is not a new tax to be levied on private homes.

What is the so-called 'bedroom tax'?

Under controversial plans, those living in social housing who are deemed to have a spare bedroom will be asked to downsize or face a cut in benefits from April.
Ministers want to cut housing benefit by 14% for those deemed to have one extra bedroom and 25% for claimants with two or more spare bedrooms."

well told mr Rudd, lets face it in this great british island called England if you sit on your arse and watch gez kile all day and pay sweet fa into the system you are looked after, if you both work and pay private child care and work up into senior management you are taxed to ceiling get no help and they take your child benifit off you, So its about time something was done about over size houses with familys with 1 kid claiming every thing, and robbing us people who work hard
