yep,got that to, mines had extensive bodywork done but not on the inner wings, the plates look origonal but maybe not, then again they may have just used what shells were left as they were comming to the end of production, its got them on thats the main thing for me,

Harrier was I believe a Ford model used to clear out the MKII Escort part bins

More than likely both RS and non-RS shells were used in its manufacture.

Plates looked to be an after thought to me.

that took some finding, sport on the logbook here too,but harrier on the VIN plate, think sports just the class for insurance purposses, dont think the differance between the two is worth a crap.

Are you sure you're driving Harriers?

I owned a V plate Harrier for 13 years, and it was built (by Ford) from an export (RS type) shell. The spare wheel bracket was inside the wheel well not on the boot floor, and it didn't have anti tramp bars, it did have spring skids and all the inner wing re-inforcements common to the RS models.

                Along with :

                Fishnet Recaros
                Remote adjustable o/s mirror
                Blue stripes
                RS boot spoiler
                6x 13 RS Alloy wheels
                Driving lamps
                Overriders on the bumpers
                1/4 Bumpers on the front
                Ghia/ Sport centre console
                MW/LW push button P21 radio
                Bronze tinted glass

The mechanical spec of the car is the same as any other 1.6 X-flow engined Mk2 Escort.

My log book stated Ford Escort 1600 Sport, and the Chassis tag said Harrier.

The log book depends on what the original supplying dealer put on the application for a new vehicle registration document.

Some cars may even be listed as "Twin Axle rigid body" for example.

                Hope this helps
                Cheers Rob.
