  • Harrier spec?

Is the spec of a Harrier similar or the same as the Mexico? Also, does anyone ever think it will have similar status to the Mex?

a harrier is a 16 sport basically with

    Fishnet seats
    4 spoke alloys
    Centre Console ? I think
and different paint and stripes thats about it

it shared a few more things with the rs/mex shell aswell iirc?

such as the spare wheel strap being in the rs place, and strut tops and tramp bars also?

did it have the rs gearbox aswell?

i dont thik itll have the same status tbh, as it was never an "RS" but still a darn nice car.

imo it was a nice comprimise between standard and RS, although never be worth as much.

            Harrier spec?

I've been offered a concourse low mileage one for £5000, which sounds like a lot to me but it is stunning!

mines got the strut top plates but had to fit the tramp bars, then thought a panhard rod would be a good idea, mayaswell have a better engine too,sod it ,LSD and streight cut box will help, balls to it,strip it right down rebuild it and fit tarmac arches, thats it untill the next brainwave !!

If its the real thing, not welded up and is genuinely concourse its worth 5k
If there are strengthining plates on the inners they have been renewed at some point (not original)
                      Should have the ghia console
                      Shouldnt have Tramp bars
Shouldnt have mex front spoiler, many have but not correct
Based on 1.6 sport not mex
                      1000 white 500 silver
if i didnt have the rs2 i would be interested in it

Depends what you're after. I went for the Harrier because it looks stunning and genuine ones are like hens teeth.

Because they were cheaper many were driven harder and abused and are no longer with us.

RS2 were driven by people who looked after them and subsequently are now, I think, more common. (Can I say that about RS2's on here?!!)

The differential in price is closing every year and while it may take some time to level out eventually the Harrier will be on a par simply because it's rare.

I would dearly love a Mexico and some day I will have one but I wouldn't sell the Harrier. (Sold my 1600 Sport to make room for the Harrier)

Maybe the Harrier should be classified as a RS as in a Rare Sport. LOL

Buy it, drive it and enjoy it.

                          Limited Edition 1600 Sport.

On bits RS on it are

                          Steering wheel
                          Seats
                          Wheels
                          Rear Spoiler.

Had the console from the gear and black rear seats to match the Recaro's.

All rest of trim was as the 1600 sport.

Had the same gearbox as the 1600 sport, same crossmember (different to the RS one), standard steering coupling - RS one is different.

The rest is the same as the sport, nothing mechanical or shell wise is that of the RS. Although it had the same axle (big Hubs) - just with the rear anti roll bar.

Says Harrier on VIN plate and 1600 Sport on Log book.

                          THink thats it.

Mine says Harrier on the log book. No mention of 16 sport on it at all.

I think the Harrier was a model to use up what was left in the RS parts bins, wheels, spoiler, recaroes, that was it, nice looking car, in essence, a 1600 Sport.
