It's sad to see after all the effort, but am I the only one who thinks maybe that it should be used for parts looking at how bent it is? The back doors don't shut properly and the front OS wing and suspension, plus probably the OS floor is pulled completely out of wack. I know there are some cars about that are little more than a dashboard with new panels welded on, but still...

(I expect my forum membership to be removed for such comments , but still just saying what I think).

the van has got hit sore but there is not a lot of them left. Get the front panel and front guard off and get the chassis pulled square. New inner guards can be got now so if the rest of the van is sound try a rebuild. Hopefully jigging the front will let the rear settle back into square for the doors.
I would cut off the damaged bits if it was mine get it pulled, and then make a judgement. Or put it in the naughty corner for a while

Looks like he was giving it some by the skid marks on the grass, pretty lucky nobody was on the pavement just there.

Should feel lucky he only scratched his car

Really? I think the price of these Escorts has just gone silly if people consider repairs like this one and worse are acceptable. They were hardly that solid to start with let alone being bent and twisted, then re straightened. I know I've seen some cars made back up from little more than the dash panel, but to me they're just like some kind of Frankenstein car. I wonder how buyers of these cars in the future would view this pre repaired condition once it's all hidden under a coat of shiny paint?

As others have said it's a good job no other people were harmed in this 'incident' (I hesitate to use the word 'accident' since it seems that the driver was being at best a bit silly, at worst maybe verging on the downright dangerous).

i was driving in an appropriate manner considdering it was 2 oclock durring rush hour on a saturday afternoon near a shopping center and the roads are wet and i'm running road legal slicks. I must of hit a gressy/oily patch on the roundabout as the diff locked (plated diff) and the back stepped out. There was nothing i could do to stop the 'accident' happening and wasn't being silly imature or stupid. I was actually on my way to an autotest to do all of the above safely and leagally.

For all the other people who have show concern thanks and here is a more up to date blog of what has happened top the van.

The passanger wing was hanging off so i kicked it off in temper. Also if you look at my thread on turbosport you will relise why the van was in such a mess after a meer bump. Mainly beacause there was yet more filler in the bulkhead hiding all the rust and the best thing about the van was the genuine mexico ford wings that were fitted to her .
