  • Post Christmas burglars !!

    Flippin nerve on em

Me and the missus sat in the front room having tea watching telly last night at 7.00

Security light comes on . . . . occasionally it does, thought the snow or a cat might have triggered it.

The metal gate on the drive is closed and locked, it`s 6` high.

So I think, I`ll just have a quick look.

In the snow are footprints, on the other side of the gate, going into the shrubs round the gate/fence and onto our side of the drive.

The prints (only 1-2 minutes old) go from the gate across the drive, down the side of the house to the kitchen, then back up again, into the shrubs and off up the drive past next door.

I worked out that he went next door, round their house into the garden, which joins ours at the front, realised they could`nt get into ours, back round the back to ours. Went round ours, when they got to the kitchen, realised we were in an legged it back to the gate and off up the road.

That`s when I followed his size 8 footprints.

Went next door but one to let them know, the old girl there says Oh yes we were burgled last week !!! (nice of them to let us know) In their case, it was 5.30, the scum took a pane of glass out of a window and came in, took a purse and a phone - worst thing was . . . .

THEY WERE IN AT THE TIME!!!

So I called the Old Bill, just to do the right thing, they were very good, and another Police call centre called me just after.

Today get a call from Halifax CID, which I was impressed with, get home at 2.00pm and theyr`e there doing the foolow up, which I was very impressed with. Two blokes, very helpful, had a bit of banter with them, and they reassured us they would be around keeping an eye out.

Moral of the story, keep all your Christmas goodies, car keys, phones, laptops etc etc away, even in daytime when your in. These scum don`t care.

I have to say, I would have had a go if I`d have come out 30 seconds earlier I would have met them face to face
