    Hi chaps,
It's been some time since I posted in the Newbie section, but I'm still certainly one of those here!!

I've been looking at the Mk2 Escort for sale sections for a few weeks as I'm getting to that age now, where trying to resist getting into another Mexico since my last one in 1989, is getting harder and harder. Not quite sure how many are still up for grabs though if I'm honest.

I'm from North Notts and have recently spotted MonteEscorts.com who appear to trade from Nottingham and have a showroom over towards Mansfield. There are a few cars on EBay too that I think may be connected with these guys. Most of their stock I've seen advertised appear to be South African import cars. I'm wondering if any of you guys would know anything of them and whether they are worth a look at?

    Thanks in advance guys
    Regards
    Steve.

Speak to "pwatson100" via a PM, I think he bought a 16 sport off them this year, sold it rather sharpishly if I remember

To be honest there cars look superb in the pics but when you get up close the bodywork repairs are always quite easy to spot

imo they need to get a better body man working on there cars as its just attention to detail that lets them down

I was looking at a nice red mk2 they had for sale at ford fair and the rear arch body lines were shocking , shame as the rest of the car looked real nice

A shame as they have had a few cars i quite fancied but wont travell to be disapointed by poor repairs

Thinking about my comments they are maybee a bit unfair as the car i looked at could have been not one of there best

Im sure they have some nice cars as they seems to sell them without any problems

Thanks for the input chaps, might give them all call and go and have a look.

If I'm honest, arched and in either Red or White is what does it for me, so I will probably end up browsing the classifieds, till I see one that generates that sharp intake of breath the second you set eyes on the picture ( is it just me that does that?!) I have to say, I've done it a few times looking at the quality of cars that have been available here in the past!!

Usually that 'sharp intake of breath' comes whilst reading the price!

Lol!! Yes prices do seem to be a little more keen than the last time I was in the Escort stable.

MK 1 Ex Lepley Group 4. Mint and rally ready in 1985 at £3500! A MK2 heavy duty shelled 1300cc ex Leeds Constabulary Panda in 1984 (motd and taxed!) with 38k on the clock for a £1000! Oh and Red Mk2 Mexico UGT275R, that I'm still on the current Log book of, since I bought it in 1989 for £1395!

Should have shut them all in the garage and welded the doors up!! I think I've come to terms with the fact it's going to cost a little bit more than lot back then to get my arse back in one today!!
