They are both real as both owners have V5's, a third owner has come forward saying he has the real one as he rebuilt it around a washer jet from the original shell

It all boils down to points in concours, there were two RSOC Regional days on the same day, the owner decided to get the upper hand in the 'Gold Cup' so sent a car to each show.
