I never fit them in the loft if the pressure on combi goes low every thing stops its a pain going in the loft to check and refil
I get several calls especially older people who have no heat and hot water due to this and they will never be able to get into loft rant over

I'm not too old to get in the loft and re-pressurise the system. However, having said that it has never required this doing. Get it fitted properly and it will be ok.
And whilst I agree it's not an ideal location for somebody that is unable to access the loft space easily, this was not a concern for me. I have a kitchen that is quite small, so gaining the extra cupboard space was worth the effort.

Maybe 'some' fitters like to put them up there for older people who can't get to them so they keep getting called out, easy money!!!

yes you can fit them correctly and ok if its a new compleat system but most of the time they are conected to an exsisting system 20+ years so you cant guarantee that they wont leak but if you are lacking space then you have no choice

just trying to help Alan save some cash. Plus it was gas engineer that suggested the idea, to help me save money. as i was having a new bathroom, kitchen, electrics, all wood replaced with oak etc. my boiler was £1000 + FITTING + Copper pipework + firewall. Nobody likes spending more money than they need too.

Here in Germany where these combis come from (Worcester/Bosch, Junkers, Vaillant) they fit a stopc@ck (pic) to one of the heating system pipes so that if you want to top up the heating circuit, all you have to do is connect a hose which you screw into say the bathroom tap (remove the tap nozzle first) open the stop**** and turn on the tap, i.e. you can happily then hide the boiler without the need to access it to top up the circuit.

On the other hand, for maintenance and should the pilot light go out, it's a lot easier if the boiler isn't hidden.

Cook that's cheap.so that's all gas safe registered , log booked . Condensate all inside to stop freezing , pipe work all insulated under floors , time clock room stat trv rad valves , all earth bonded , wired up , flushed out after installed and chemicals added after hot flushing ect ? Man that is a real good price .
