RIP SIR PATRICK. I met the great man in November 1997 when he gave a talk at the Southampton Guildhall,a very captivating speaker. Always enjoyed his programmes.A sad day and the end of an era in broadcasting and astronomy.

my m8 used to be the local village bobby where he lived and would spend many evening round there talking to him and looking at the stars, was really nice bloke by all accounts
