  • RSOC and MKII RS Escort Club and Registrars !

we were having a discussion on the rsoc on the scottish site and i would like to hear the thoughts of the members on here, i joined in 1987,but i am no longer a member as i thought that they did nothing to help with the sourcing of parts for the older cars, which after all were the cars that first started the club off.i also noticed that the input from the mk2 register was very poor also, compared with the capri one who had a lot less to work with i.e( they only made 250 rs3100 with a hundred going to australia,)when you look at much smaller clubs who have put together some sourcing or re manufacture of parts ...i.e this very club , A.V.O. and sporting escort clubs,i sort of think they have let the older cars down

    here here big man.

for years rallye news has been a waste of time also...unless you own a turbo/cossie of course.
Having said that i have met many good friends through it so it aint that bad.

I Couldn't agree more lads, I sometimes wonder why i keep shelling out for my subscription. I too have met some top people by being in the club also but the club comes across now as so money orientated. All they ever talk about is parts remanufacture where are the parts?

      Cheers Garth

But the smaller clubs only deal with that model where as the RSOC deals with all RS models i dont like the Turbo stuff that seems to fill the pages of Rallye news but as u said our model started it so lets keep going and get the bits made.

Develop this club further as it has everything i want from the rsoc and more.

I like the way this club accepts ANY rs cars be it standard or modified. None of this crap that if its not standard and original then it gets slated at the shows.
I like to see concours cars and working/track cars. Any mk2 does it for me!

Rsoc nat day gets worse by the year..lack of mk2 cars..wonder why???

Bruntingthorpe will be the NAT DAY for me this year by a mile.

I see 3 main areas beginning to take shape

                    1. RSOC

                    2. RS MKII ESCORT CLUB

                    3. My RS Escort BB

At the end of the day people will gather at the area that caters for their own particular need.

Any ideas how to improve this BB please PM me if you do not want to "suggest" in public
