Young Skids has passed his driving test

My lad has just passed his Driving Test today at the first attempt ,passed the theory first time as well .Well chuffed for him and our Bank Balance as it was costing us £100 a week in lessons however this was short lived as we went to insure his 1.1 206 tonight and where it was quoted at £1350 in April when we checked which we thought was bad enough it has just cost us £2.5k for a year and that is with one of those black box things fitted ,where the **** do they get the prices from they don't give the young drivers a chance ,how many 17 year olds can find £225 a month ? Most prices were nearly £4k .
Looks like SAG will be for sale soon to fund the other cars in the Skids stable

Yes and the scumbags still wouldn't pay for it even if it was a reasonable cost so all of us tax payers end up paying twice to conform with the law .I think they should make the charges reasonable but make the fines and penalties much higher ,heavy fine, crush their cars and lock them up for a while for all those caught without insurance

insurance is a proper rip of mate . I'm 20 an been driving 2 years an to insure my old nova is about 1300 quid
yet i can insure a 56 plate l200 for about 1200

I paid £25 to insure my first car an 850 mini that I only paid £20 for the car
It's the older drivers I see having most of the accidents when traveling around the country .It's the claims culture that has put the prices up and all the scammers who set them up

well done to him , I've the same problem at the moment , son turned 17 & have to look for a small second car. Only way out is my wife to insure it & him a named driver. still big money & all the small cars that they will insure (polos, fiestas , 206's etc) are expensive enough too.

Been Driving Instructor for 52 years,Top Grade 6, and I am teaching youngsters to drive in 6 to 8 weeks,getting them through 1st time always no more than 4 minor faults.But most the kids I take have wealthy parents,but they feel it too,as when they were young drivers,Insurance was at a reasonable level.Now with all these false claims,everybody trying to become a millionaire from their insurance claims the prices have rocketed.My son in law has a large brokerage,and some insurers are not now interested in motor vehicle insurance,as the profits are very low !
