It looks like Ford must have put a stop to the guy in my link above.

I can understand it happening. Especially with the popularity of the modern remakes over there.
Plus I think Ford America are far more into their heritage than Ford UK are.


No news on the Escort shells though yet.....

Ford losing $ billions, closing plants down worldwide, Cannot justify a 'few' £ million for Rallying,

Wonder if the FoMoCo chief exec will one day wake up and shout "Eureka !! i have the answer to our financial crisis, lets make a few hundred shells of the old escorts".


There are so many of Ford Models that would be higher up in the pecking order in terms of demand for reproduction, and having spent some time with (former) Ford CEO Lewis Booth last year, he stated reproducing Escort shells will never happen, not by Ford directly themselves anyway.

Best hope is that a 'Satelite' specialist company will reach an agreement with FoMoCo to reproduce part or all of an old Escort.

GJ in Rainspeeds link it says Ford would not build the Mustang shells themselves.
Although they would need the new product to be a better finish & quality than that of the originals.
They would work alongside independants, allowing them acess to original blue prints.
