anyone on here have any advice on PPI (mis-sold insurance protection)

probably like quite a few we feel we have been a victim and have submited claims, and have received a 'Goodwill' offer in one particular instance, do we take it or challenge it ?

When all this miss selling came to light with PPI, I said to the other half people are just jumping on the band wagon and they must know they took it out and just pulling a fast one bah bah bah........!

Cue me getting a letter a few months ago from what was Northern Rock, I had taken a small loan out with them a few years ago. Turns out these cheeky Geordie's had added PPI to my loan. I phoned up to make sure they had the information right, got told to fill in the form they had sent me and got £130 from them...Of course I spent it on a large slice of Humble Pie (okay some beer and slap up dinner)

Had a look at my bank account too and found when they changed my account they added into my OD and Barclaycard too. Oh and when I got a sofa with 0% finance they added PPI to that because I had to have it or they would withdraw the offer. That reminds me to have a chat with them in the morning...

Its easy to claim, and they never do anything out of the kindness of their hearts. I would tell them you want the full amount owed which is the amount charged for PPI + 8% compound interest for each year (e.g say £100 3 yrs ago would be 100+8% = 108 +8%= 116.4+8%= £126) . It was a nice little earner for the finance company's, but if you had to claim would they pay out, and did they tell you that you that you had to have PPI or just added it anyway to something.
