is there any way of asking these questions to euro commission,some people think all mods are going to be banned, some think it will apply to new cars built from now on, there should be some open discussion with people new laws are going to affect ,not just laws made and passed in virtual secrecy. This has not been passed yet but only 2 or 3 weeks away. If all mods are banned just think of all the jobs that would be lost, hopefully mot testing should be left to each country with standards up to at least how cars were built, banning things like replacing disc brakes with lower spec drums because owner has no cash and "fixed" brakes with something pulled out of the nettles

Will be like this soon : No mods allowed on new cars without paperwork to support approved fitment of parts by goverment "special" tuners .
Also classics have to apply in advance for a day permit before allowed on the road . These "permit" cost £25 each and you have to buy a book of 50 . Tossers .

See now to me that reads, if you want your car listed as historic (and reap the rewards like free road tax ect) you have to keep it as it left the factory, if you mod it it stays as a normal car and you loose any benifits that come with the historic tag?

See the following thread non arched look half way down and see the mini pictures posted by Paul Spence. These are just "slightly" modified cars and still get the H (historic) plate in Germany; notice the Munich plate

This change to the MOT rules will not take thousands of cars off the road. If you read the actual proposal you will see that each Member State has durisdiction and can decide how to implement the EU regulation.
