I seem to remember hearing that now if you are the registered owner of a car, and even tho it may be declaired SORN you still have to have it insured or the dvla will do you for no insurance.
Am i right?

The new vehicle insurance law means that the registered keeper of a vehicle must keep it insured unless they've made a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). If you're not insured and haven't made a SORN, you could face a penalty. Find out what the law means for you.

I've had a mk2 RS 'SORNED' for 7 years,without insurance

I have another RS that was off road before SORN and I dont know anything about this, I even asked DVLA if I need to SORN it and they said no "because it was taken off the road before teh SORN syetem came in".
