I suspect it was a reg plate and a shell to start off with to be honest. I would have left it alone if it was standard for sure but with the prices of "NOS" now going through the roof, it may have been cheaper to build it as a track car or potential historic touring car.

Strong money in these now as racers but I still think that this price is a little steep for a roadie.

Saying that, I bet you'd struggle to build one to that spec if you started from scratch, for that price if you farmed some of the work out like painting, shell prep and engine build

It floats my boat TBH, especially if it had got a period sticker job too.
