I'd like to here your explanation of your statement above Gaz.
As Kevin's car would have fallen into one of two catergories.
Category A Insurance Write Off – the vehicle must scrapped and no parts or components can be sold other than for scrap.
Category B Insurance Write Off - the vehicle must not be used again but non- structural and roadworthy parts and components may be recovered for use in other vehicles.
The vehicle is not to be used on the road again. So what use is the top plate/identity..??Mark....

Kevin, I understand the write off system. I guess some folks on here don't.
It's just to bad that some people have to talk bollocks all the time.
YUE was a lovely car & it is a crying shame what happened to it.
I also know the whole event will live with you for the rest of your life. I also have first hand experience of a car setting fire. I was lucky in that I managed to open the bonnet & get the fire extinguished.
You have done everything as it should be & like others have said it's good to have closure on the event.
I hope REG1 gives you as much pride of ownership as YUE did.Mark....

Peasants . It was a joke about the strut top surviving but .....
How many "write offs" are put back on the road then ? Lots and it doesn't matter what insurance company bollox is attacted to them either as they get inspected by the local DVLA centre and they say weither it's road worthy or not .sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
