I was in your position last year.
I looked at block, steel kit and timber, I ended up with timber.
1, because I could build it myself. 2, this mean't it would be cheaper. 3, wood is more of an insulator. And 4, because there was an old barn there before I didn't need planning.
One recomendation I would definatly have is some kind of transparent roof panel/sky light, the amount of natural light I get is fantastic.
Id like to know what this Kit is two , got room for treble garage in me back garden and the hard standing there for it already , only got a single garage thats wide enough to open doors but cant walk around the front and rear of the car
For relative cheapness lay yourself a concrete slab and get a concrete sectional garage built. Look on Ebay, theres always folks wanting peanuts for them or giving them away. Just get however many you think you'll need and bolt them together, build your own roof and either make a door or buy one. It'll take you 3 or 4 weekends but you'll probably save a fair bit over someone doing it all for you.
i would try and avoid a concrete sectional garage due to the damp they tend to cause i have to have a de humidifier on all the time in winter and a heater on because if i dont my escort engine block will be soaking wet and when the weather is really raining and damp outside my shiny black rs looks matt black. if you do have concrete garage i would definately fully insulate it first.
no damp at all in mine, fully insulated between the joist with celotex then plaster boarded, nice and cool when hot outside and also keeps the heat in when cold outside. i had a concrete sectional one before this and the car would be dripping from sills down also the alloy wheels sweated
