About 1960. It was like a grey and cream back with a darker grey front and green screen, OK not very brightly coloured but coloured non the less. It had a white rotating knob on the side. BBC was #2 and ITV #10.

My favorite was Bill and Ben but I had to wait another year or so before I could get out of my cot and watch it.

My Dad liked to watch Z Cars and Take your Pick.

About 1971, my Mum came to meet us from school (which was rare as back then we used to walk home alone ) she was so excited to tell us that we had a colour TV. We went home and watched any old rubbish and sat amazed at seeing it in colour (I think the colour control was at max as everything looked almost neon ). It was a rental TV and a few years later we got a remote control TV, but it was rubbish as everytime one of our dogs walked past the TV it would randomly change channels or the volume would go up full.
