                  TVs

Probably early 70s.BUT we lived in a very small village near to Haworth, and we had the first Television in our village .It was for the "Festival of Britain",and was in 1951.It was a 10" Baird,in Bakerlite ,and we had a sliding magnifier in front of it that was filled with a clear white fluid that magnified the picture.Think we oNLY had 2 channels BBC and ITV .

It was the advent of colour tv that made for the intoduction of snooker on telly:

The first Pot Black was held in 1969 at the BBC Studios in Birmingham. BBC began broadcasting in colour, and were looking for programmes that could exploit this new technology. The programme first aired on 23 July 1969, on BBC2.

Sadly I remember all this quite well...

A great quote by Ted Lowe on BBC TV

For those of you watching in Black and White, the Pink is next to the Green
                              Cheers
