  • Can you claim a v5 with only chassis number??

We have a escort mk2,just brought as a unfinished project ,,,but no v5 or number plate.
But chassis number is clearly on the inner wing and both vin tags are there.
Anyway we can get the number plate to apply for v5???

You need to fill a form in with the engine number, reg number along with vin to produce a v5.

Just to add that a trade hpi on the vin could well tell you the reg etc...

I wouldn't argue with you,but you certainly won't get one with just a vin as evidence.
In any event i wouldn't try to apply without an hpi first as the car may have a chequered career which may take some explaining.
