  • New Project. Information needed

Went and picked this up Thursday night.

It was bought by previous owner in August 2004 and it sat on his drive, covered over until i picked it up.
95% of everything needed to put it back to it's original glory is there.
Intend to strip totally, and start from scratch with the intention of making totally standard.
Anyway i digress...... What i'd like if possible is the name of the supplying dealer . If i get that i'd like to put original suppliers ford decal in rear window along with dealers number plates (or copies of).
The reg. no. is C396 FJA. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Please please please can I be in the 'Clique'

Must admit i got lucky. Sat flicking through pistonheads classifieds when it popped up. The Guy was a real nice genuine bloke. He'd sold it TWICE on ebay!! so as you can imagine all he wanted was someone to turn up, make a reasonable offer, pay him and take it away!
          Sorry i beat you to it..................Actually that's a lie i'm very happy

lol , hopefully it won't be as bad as his when you start stripping it . If it's just floors/arches and stuff then it won't be too bad but some of the other parts are quite hard to get now .
They look pretty cool these days when you see one on the road .

I knew someone who got one of these when they first came out and being 18 at the time i was blown away by it's looks and 'relative' speed. Liked them ever since.
Mine has rot issues but nothing to major.

Is there a website or something to find where your car was first registered?

Nice S1 mate, finishing off one at the moment.

For supplying dealer info get a V888 form from dvla.

I do apologise for lowering the tone??. Not sure what other people think but 'in my opinion' after the MK2 there is only this car (not the S2) and the Escort Cosworth that come under the heading 'iconic ford'??????

Thanks for that mate. Nige30 thinks it's from Manchester and supplying dealer is Quicks so going to chase it up and if no joy will get the V888 form.
