matlock will be good on the sunday, if the weather is good, will be full of motorbikes. there are lots of places to vistit, heights of abraham (interesting lead mine tour and cable car ride), castleton is interesting (mostly caves and mines), buxton has some nice scenery and few shops, a good park and small steam train if you have kids, carsington water, teggs nose just off the cat and fiddle road (with nice icecream), hartington village and tea rooms, the winking man (the roaches), ladybower where the dam busters practiced, depends what you want !!!

Best pub by far is the Knockerdown overlooking Carsington Reservoir , you can camp there too if you fancy it

Daughter AJ is in Sheffield uni therefore the school of thought is to stay fairly near (ish) the area for a couple of days, therefore just looking for somewhere with a few nice pubs, maybe some shops for the other half and a bit of nice scenery to take the fox terrier for a walk
