This years classic ford show was my first ever trip there. Was a bit of a dust bowl and i should have got a bit more organised getting a stand pass from somewhere. 18quid each to get in and I drove the mex on motorways for best part of 3 hours each way and was only allowed to park in the public car park. If i had known that was gonna be the case i would have taken the daily driver and had aircon

having said that the strip itself was quite an impressive thing to see, the demo drive by a top fuel dragster and the rocket car were amazing, me and the little lad loved those, he was still talking about it this morning

To experiance it properly it's best to go on a normal RWYB test day as then you can park anywhere (right by the cafe , lol) as there's no bouncers in yellow bibs directing you .
As the classic ford show is so big now they have to make all the cars park in the fields or else it will take hours to move anywhere . Show cars are supposed to apply for club stand passes in advance to stop them ending up with the plastic modern stuff .

My son gets very excited by the jet car and top fuel is amazing in real life . The top fuel dragster yesterday only did a half throttle run so when they do it properly the stands shake and 50,000 car alarms go off !!!! Don't try to video one without proper ear muffs or else you'll shit yourself and drop the camera , lol .
Normal RWYB days are alot cheaper and have a very relaxed atmosphere . If you go to one the week before a proper Euro drag meet then you'll see top fuel funny cars etc racing and practising along side the normal modified road cars and bikes . These are the best days to go racing as it's only around £10 to get in and you can race your own car for £15 allday long .

Loved the early shows. Unfortunately I hate Santa Pod with a passion. Soulless place. Too expensive, dreadful to enter & exit if showing. Boring drag strip apart from the jet car. Classic ford tries far too hard to be "Hip". Was better when show was on the grass instead of the hard standing.

Fooook all that parked up in a field bollox with mirriors underneath and old blokes comparing wiring loom tags and peashooter exhaust , lol .
Long live the classic ford show at the Pod where the bufftys get stuffed right down the end .

Try getting 50,000+ people into Stanford Hall and see how long the queues would be !!!!
It's not dear either , i drove up Sunday and paid £8 on the gate too enter , £2.50 for a big ice cream with a flake and £2.50 for a 1/4 pounder with cheese . I then had a free Fosters in the Escort-tec hospitality tent , lol .
