  • In sad times

it just goes to show what a great bunch of folks there are in this scene. Reading thru the sad thread on Kev's car the number of folk who genuinely are gutted about it and know it could happen to us all at any time.

This site is best on the web for me and had some great people on here. I know i've met some great friends thru this site, most of which will probably be for life.

Kev if your reading this we all hope you get back on the horse so to speak as soon as possible

My first thought after the shear shock was to restore it again...I am not sure how viable that would be if it is subject to an insurance claim because of the classification system now used for salvage.
Not sure how this would work out with a classic policy..
              Just glad nobody was hurt.

I texted keV before to tell him how gutted I am for him and if there is anything I can do for him,I'm a big mk1 escort nut,but if I could help with getting his mk2 back on the road, then Im here to help, but looking at the pictures ,it could be too gone,I'm not an expert, but fire and metal don't really mix,but hey I could be wrong,I hope I am,fingers crossed she can be saved!!!!!.....

I dont think insurance will let it back on the road tbh, It will probally get a cat B writeoff now given the damage which is a parts breaker only.

Don't let a breaker get hold of it just to crush . I'm sure a deal could be made with the insurance. Heat and metal don't mix but the chassis could still be ok, lets hope anyway. Good luck Kev .

You can retain/buyback the salvage afaik its just the id/number plate/logbook will be scrapped once insurance get involved.
