I'm ever so sorry for you Kev, this is our worst nightmare isn't it! It was such a lovely car, and was better everytime I saw it.

Get the shock and upset out of the way first, pick yourself up and you just come back fighting with another one mate. Glad your ok though, as that's the most important thing!

Can I please say a massive thank you to everyone who has text and rang me to offer their sympathy. It is truly appreciated. I have met so many great people on here. Many of which, have become very close friends. This, Means so much to me....Thank you all.

Now thinking about it, It had to be a fuel leak of some kind. The speed of which everything caught fire points to it. I always carried 2 fire extinguishers in the car under both front seats. The speed in which the fire took hold meant I only just had enough time to get out never mind trying to set one off. I now have a slightly singed eyebrow and a "Suntan" from the flames. All I keep thinking about is what if my 2 kids were in the car strapped in the back......................This will haunt me for a very long time indeed.

I just remember sitting on the verge looking in denial that this was happening. I heard all the tyres explode along with all the glass. Even the cannister of octane booster in the boot exploded.

This has to be one of the worst days of my life. Again, Thank you so much to all that have contacted me. xxxx

hopefully at least 1 good thing can come from this unfortunate incident and that everyone of us goes out and checks our cars fuel lines and connections before its too late.

                      • Just seen this and I am truly gutted for you.

I am glad you are ok and it is a lesson for us all on how quick the fire can take hold. It sent shivers down my spine when you said you could of had your little ones in the car too.

You had the best YUE by far

                        All the best.

                        Darren.
