Its simple really do what the club asks, get your valuation everyone happy. Why debate the whys and wherefors?? The club asks for it for a reason not to be awkward. Jees its hard work sometimes
my comment was that when the 'club' valued my car there was no request for a hpi check...

this is by no means a digg at martin for asking the lads to arrange what the club asks...

frosty as ever assumes its a go at him personnaly when anyone dares to question whats happened in the past....
just glad my insurance doesnt need club membership so i dont have to be a member

I have just seen the link that Dave has posted so i will use that.
It certainly isn't straightforward with the club is it.

A car can be written off AFTER the HPI report was produced

The RSOC require a "fresh" HPI report every time a vehicle is valued

The RSOC will accept a trade HPI or if not available to you then The RSOC will carry out a HPI for you
Yes, my wording isn't what it is meant to say

The Club Valuation is valid for 2 years, but you need to get a new HPI done before the car is revalued incase there has been some claim on the car whether a total loss or a stolen recovered that the club were not aware of.

              Hope that clears it up
              Cheers

Have they changed the rules on valuations now Martin ?

ALL my previous valuations state "This valuation is valid for twelve months only."

The reason I started the original post before some of the 'comments' changed it into a slanging match was to try to get people who wanted their car values to follow the procedure set out by the RS Owners Club.

For those that aren't members it doesn't apply

For those that are members and who don't need or want their cars valued it doesn't apply

for those that are members and want their cars valued then please follow the Club rules and request an HPI and infor mme so I can reserve some time to look at your car and agree a valuation with you

As I have already said, The Lakes Tour is a great weekend when we can all wander about having a drink and some good crack, but when I get people coming up to me and insisting that I value their cars as I am the Registrar and they are a fully paid up member without them having followed the correct procedure or obtaining an HPI it isn't on and won't be happening.

Hope this clears up any misunderstanding some of you may have
                  Cheers

Now you still have to contact The RSOC and forward them the HPI report

Emma will then record the valuation request and forward the HPI form along with a valuation sheet to Martin

He will then arrange with you to value the vehicle

NOTE:- This "was" the procedure when I carried out valuations but it may have changed

                          Hi Dave

It was discussed at the Registrars Meeting in February that the Valuation period was going to be moved from 12 months to 24 months.

I'll speak to Paul to confirm if this has now been applied
                          Cheers
