They shouldn't have done that as a HPI is a must and the RSOC cannot give a valid valuation without one.Originally posted by LOUIE View Postgood to know that when the rs mk1 registrar did my valuation 2 years ago without a hpi check it was worthless then kev??

Sorry but a HPI check is ONLY valid at the time the report was produced by HPI and not for 2 years !Originally posted by Martin View Post
A valuation last for 2 years as does an HPI
A car can be written off AFTER the HPI report was produced
The RSOC require a "fresh" HPI report every time a vehicle is valued
The RSOC will accept a trade HPI or if not available to you then The RSOC will carry out a HPI for you

correct didnt want to get involved in this debate i have used HPI for nearly 30 years now as for the rs owners club and other clubs classic car valuations they are always over the topOriginally posted by RS2000CUSTOM View PostSorry but a HPI check is ONLY valid at the time the report was produced by HPI and not for 2 years !

I am trying to get a club valuation for mine but i can't get hold of anybody at the club to do the hpi report despite many calls.
I have just seen the link that Dave has posted so i will use that.
It certainly isn't straightforward with the club is it.

has insurance changed recently then ? ive never had a "external" valuation on any car - always had the insurance company ask for 6-8 photos and then basically ask me "how much do you want it insured for ?" ........... from Flux to Hegerty no problem
remember richy having his valued at AVO a few years back and they came up with the same figure he'd insured for, so i don't see why the "club" valuation is so needed
anyone ?

Thankfully i don't need mine valuing
Its simple really do what the club asks, get your valuation everyone happy. Why debate the whys and wherefors?? The club asks for it for a reason not to be awkward. Jees its hard work sometimes
