i phone gone blank

anyone had their i phone just go blank,like you have turned it off,cant get it to do anything just a black screen,wont turn on,

Daughters did this recently,,,removed the battery and cleaned terminals and it was ok again

Try holding the top power button and the home button down together for 10 seconds, Failing that plug it back into ITunes and try and do a restore and if that don't work panic

Mine did this last year, I found the fault code and had to download OS5 then plug phone into iTunes. Whole thing took about two hours to reset itself and I lost all my songs/apps/contacts/photos I had added to the phone for months back to when I last sync'd it. I now try to sync more regularly........

As Paul has said, hold both buttons unti lthe apple Logo comes back on then let go of the top button
