Steady earner though at 20 quid a time to pump up the suspension units

BL cars were really rubbish; apparently, the doors on a maxi were basically cut downs of those designed for the Landcrab, what possessed them to do that
The Landcrab was hardly popular or renowned for its sleek lines; for its slab-sidedness maybe! So why re-use an old (ugly) design?

I think just about the nuttiest idea was when the Allegro designers/engineers thought they'd re-invent the wheel – the steering wheel – bloody ludicrous, a square steering wheel
It wouldn't have surprised me if they didn't try a similar approach with the road wheels on early prototypes

Was a well earned £20 sometimes to get them Philips screws out of the maxi boot floor
