he he. I would find a Mex shell that wouldn't make a concours car (If yours is "Too good" then I would sell it to someone who needs it for a Mex.) Marks car is a great example. Lots of hard work but worth it in the end. What he's done to his is just right.

why not just leave it for this season. End of the show season is only 2-3 months away.

i know i wasnt going to start it untill the winter anyway
if the bloke comes up with the £11500.00 for the white rs then it will go but if not i will run it untill national day and it will be for sale there
then i will finish the mex shell the i will start on the gp4 shell
            thats the plan

Paul; its your money, your car, you decide!

I personally had no problem butchering a RS to GRP4 it

its all about what car you want to have by the end of it.

personally a concours group 4 is an oxymoron by defintiion, as itd be a darn shame to built something to silly spec and then drive it everywhere on a trailer.

try something new, do something different. build a drag car? build a sleeper? build a salt flat bloody racer! id sit down and work out exactly what i want tbh

Paul. at the end of the day, its entirely up to you what you do, as we have already said, its easy for others to give opinion, its for you to absord the opionions, and thats all, and for you to make a decision. which is in your best interests,, not others, dont let it get personal, not worth it, for what its worth, i would keep the Mex a Mex, cos thats what it is, the GL is just a Gl Escort, no more, however the car is very good, so sod it, go for it, as you have already pointed out, how many others have Escorts, claiming to be RS,s ??, i ,m sure whatever you decide, it,ll turn out the BIZ,.

well it might not work out how i wanted it to
i might have to do the mex cos of it being an rs for the club and the rsoc
and to enter it in to shows
if i do the gl then its not an rs and cannot be done as a show car

so it looks like the mex is going under the knife....

Just my opnion, mildy old school modify the Mex and go to town on the GL. That way, you can still enjoy the Mex as a reasonably original car, and just enjoy creating a monster, fun car with the GL without having nagging doubts about ruining an RS with mods or track damage.

End of the day, as others have said, they're your cars and you can do whatever you like to them, they are after all there to be enjoyed!

i didnt want to build a fast car just for the road i wanted to do one for the shows so everyone can enjoy it

but like i say if i do the gl then its not going to be a show car cos its not an rs so there is no point in doing the gl
so it will be the mexico now
iam abit unhappy in doing it and i still might not as i dont know if i can cut up a very good mexico

1 step foward 10 steps back........why do i even think of these things...?

i might just sell them all and buy a lotus.......naaaaa
i will keep one of them but what one...?

                            i just don't fu**ing know now

the gl is not the car to do for me as its not an RS

i might just give up on the idea of a gp4 car and spend the 30k some were else
