  • 3.0ltr Escort from the 80's

My brother just found and scanned some pics of a 3.0ltr MK2 we built back in the earlier 80s

No twinks back then at affordable prices so the lumpy ole Essex was the way forwards (literally lol). I used to sound awesome and was quicker than most cars back on the road back then

    Started life as a Pop

Seems like sooooo long ago, and not even a transplant you would even concider nowdays

No graphics churned out on the cheap back then lol, they were hand cut with a stencil knife I remember the first time we went up the Chelsea cruise in it. As we drove past you could see peoples lips saying "R S 3000" ???

A good West London / Middlesex Reg No. ( the VRO was Victoria Rd Ruislip)

Sadly we sold the 3.0ltr to an oil rigger, and whilst he was "away" it got stolen, so I guess that was the end of it

the concept only come about after seeing a MK1 Superspeed up for sale on a local forecourt for £2600 and we thought we could build one cheaper! You know I think there was probably less than £2k in this MK2 including the Billys and 7.5 RS alloys

But in truth my brother had a well sorted Pinto MK2 RS (for the day) with an Oselli built engine with IDFs and it used to kick the 3.0ltrs aRSe (got pics of that too)
