i worked at a Vauxhall dealers ,when they first came out,Must have been a bout 1960ish.We sold one to a guy and within 5 days of picking it up,he rang to say the gearlever had broken off, where it went into the extended selector. So I had to go out to Bradford, and remove the broken gearlever and drive it back using a screwdriver for gear selection,as they did not want a brand new car seen on the end of a tow rope !
