  • Current values of escorts

    Hi all,
This is nt a "whats it worth post" But was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the value of mk2 escorts at this moment in time, and if they are selling quickly or not, or is it just a case people will still only pay what they think they are worth, or waiting for the right person to come along.
    Any feedback welcome
    Thank you

    cheers Ian

I am looking for a standard car at the moment so have looked around a few.Not suprisingly,in my view, the standard cars with good history seem to be selling at reasonable money. However i have been reliably informed that prices have come back a couple of grand from 2 years ago.
The modified cars don't seem to be selling. The vendors appear to be trying to recoup the build cost.I suppose modified cars are like modified bikes, not always to other peoples taste.
Even a lighty modified car will incur a lot of extra cost if you want to put it back to standard judging by the parts prices on ebay.

^ I agree, prices are coming down. Stuff that would normally get snapped up is hanging around. A few years ago people daren't miss out on a car regardless of price cos someone else would've had it sharpish

          Time to sell up

Mate that would be a real shame times are not easy at the moment, I have plenty of work but I'm earning the same as I was 3/4 years ago, Mandy hasn't had a payrise for over 3 years because the bloody government put a pay freeze on plublic sector workers (she dosn't earn much as it is) and the cost of living has rocketed

Still on a brighter note at least you would still have one RS

All the decent motors with realistic price tags sell quickly , it's the overpriced ones that are ropey that don't . There's a mk1 Escort 1100L on ebay at present for £5500 so let's see if it sells .

Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!

Also there's a modded rs1800 for sale for nearly 50 grand at present so prices aren't dropping at the other end of the scale either .
The most affected price wise are middle ground cars that need resto work but look ok and are mot'ed etc . These cars are the hardest too sell (always have been) and it dosen't matter what model they are either . Most buyers want a mint one or a resto project too make mint .
