  • New Office Space

Sick of working from home (inside the house) and being distracted so I've decided to extend the garage to give me more space downstairs for cars etc. and an office upstairs in the roof area with 2 big Velux windows for plenty of light. Dropping the roof height by approx. 18 inches to give me more head height space with the pitch of the roof but still enough clearance downstairs (about 7ft) for cars, access and walking about

Wrong time of year to start this but had other things happening which delayed the job

Putting a shower, toilet and kitchen area downstairs and knocking the wall outto give full access to all the garage and fitting 16 Solar PV Panels on the South Facing roof side of the garage to give me 3.92Kwh of energy to be fed back into the National Grid to hopefully pay for itself and give me FREE Electricity

Size of extension will be 19ft x 20ft so plenty of space as current garage is 20ft x 20ft.

    Cheers

Only 1m in Scotland which it is on the South side. The other side backs onto open land which has 2m of land before the fence. Plus I am hopefully buying this land behind the house giving me an extra 22m x 6m of land
        Cheers

I know Steve, we have had to fit the panels to the existing garage and connect to the Grid by Midnight on 11th December. Panels are being fitted today with connection on Friday.

Once the extension is up they are coming back to add the extra 4 panels to complete the link taking me to the 3.92 Kwh.

Feed In Tariff is dropping from 43p per Kwh to 21p per Kwh from 12th December but as I will be connected before then I keep the higher rate for 25 years (as agreed by the Government)
                    Cheers

My neighbours are spot on and the Planning Officer has already been round to see them and explain what is happening so no worries for me (hopefully)
