Well, having read these stories with interest, I have finally got time to put pen to paper as it were .....
I am a true believer in ghosts / paranormal etc as my one and only experience is as follows:
At the ages of 5 / 6 my brother and myself would visit my grandparents house. They were not massively religious but as a wedding gift, an Uncle had carved a wooden chandalier for them. Not the most attractive thing, but it was hung in their dining room because they felt that they had to ...
Anyway, in the lounge was an old fashioned green 3 piece suite that had springs in the body underneath the cushions. So, as little kids, me and my brother had great delight in 'trampolining' off the settee and just managing to touch the chandalier and spinning it around
Well, we continued alternately for about 10 minutes taking great delight in the fact that this light must have had bad / old wiring and each time we managed to spin it, then it would short out and buzz / flash off and on.
After 10 minutes or so of this 'fun' my brother and myself crapped ourselves and froze solid when this 'thing' appeared out of the chandalier and worked itself onto the floor It was just as you see in the films. A see-through image like a deciple / Jesus . It just stood there and we froze.
We called my Mum in with a panic and she walked in and didn't believe us when we had told her what was there. We pointed to it, but as we did so, it had gone
These days....about 40 years later, my brother and I rarely talk about it......but at times like Christmas, I can't help but mentioning it to him after a few beers and we both still remember it vividly We don't 'think' it happened.....we'know' it happened.
To clarify :
1. We are not religious people
2. We are not mad (open to debate)
3. I bought the very same house in 1992 and still live there. The first thing I did when I bought it was to take the said chandalier down and it to someone else
Fingers crossed......I have had no repurcussions though I often think about what happened on that day
