  • Boys day out

Took my lad to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford last week, and as always, had a camera with us. Thought I'd share a few pics.

They also have a huge display of land based exhibits as well as planes, this being a Tiger tank

As you'd expect, a Spitfire (one of about six)

This looks like it lives outside

Also had this mean looking thing

Excellent day out but probably not a day for the ladies.

It is a good day out !

Julie & I took her youngest boy there last year.

Julie went back a week later with the school she works for.

So I'm sure some ladies like it there.

Brooklands is another good day out, with plenty of variety.
      Cheers Rob.

Duxford is a great day out, been many times with my involvement in ww2 military vehicles.
the best days are when the air displays are on and there can be a good number of spitfires flying at any one time along with p51 mustangs and the B17 sally B , of which i have had the privilage of sitting in the pilot,s seat...
remember that operating costs of a spitfire or p51 are 1800 quid per half hour makes escorts very economical.
Live to regret ..or regret to live.

I'm sure you're right, its just that mine has refused to ever go near a military museum again (but that was after a trip to the Normandy Landings!). We're hoping to do Brooklands over Xmas
