filming has started in london for the remake of the sweeney!!!

ive just seen in the daily mirror paper that they are filming today in london on a movie remake of the sweeney!!!!! it stars Ray Winstone as Di Regan and rapper Plan B as Sgt Carter...."SHAT IT"!!!!!!!!!....."WERE THE SWEENEY AND WE HAVENT HAD OUR DINNER YET!!!!!" I hope its good as the orginal one???.........

Remakes are never as good as the original.

Might be a good crack though all the same.
Maybe this time they won't use dodgy incidental music cause they can't afford to pay for original tunes .

The Sweeney was made by ITV during the days when product placement had yet to banned on UK telly. Thats why the "goodies" always had a Ford who were the sponsor, and the "baddies" had the Jags. Who knows what the 80s would have given us if it hadnt been banned... maybe Dempsey and Makepeace would have been watchable

Athough a Beeb thing, Gene Hunt showed whats possible with his Quattro, the country noticed that car for sure. And of course as product placement was never banned in movies, Jimmy Bond has always been Aston Martin's top car salesmen.

So now the UK product placement TV ban has ended be interesting to see if commercial telly comes up with another "wouldn't you like to drive the same car as this cool copper" argument for us all to ponder.
