  • Anyone into Dolly Sprints?

Been offered this as a PX for my RS, looks nice and ready to race as well.

Ex Gerry Marshall dolly Sprint Race car....

It's up for Auction at Silverstone on Nov 4th.

How collectable is it as I know nothing about it? comes with original helmet and signed books by Gerry himself?

What do you think its worth then?

I had a standard road one years ago, It was very heavy on fuel, it handled like a boat. I kept it for about 3 months. I could not wait to get rid of and get back into mk mk1 RS2000 again. Take care Paul.

I have had the exact same car offered as a PX on my RS too !!

Must have sent an email to me exactly the same as yours.

Looks good in the pics i was sent but wouldnt like to maintain it as a track/race car, with spares availability etc.

I think he values it quite strongly aswell, figures of 13k were mentioned last time it was auctioned.

This one has a new Scholar 200hp engine with twin 45s so should be even worse on fuel

Although kitted out with coilovers and LSD etc should handle better over a standard car

Use to have a terrible reputation for overheating and warping heads.

If you're tempted by something like that, (with a bit of pedigree), go for a Sunbeam.

I had a dolly sprint as my first car,130bhp for a standard car was something else in 1980,went like stint until it dropped 6 valves, then it used to eat waterpumps for fun, they were driven off a stupid jack shaft,I saw the light and got mk1 rs2000 after that, regards Gixer1000.
