Martin, Bath is a good place for a visit, and the Recreation ground (Bath RFC) is pretty much city centre.

If you are Flying in to Bristol, then there is a Blue coach express that will take you to Bristol temple meads Rail station direct (About 15 minutes) and then you can get a train direct to Bath (Bath Spa) which takes about another 15 minutes. Coaches and trains run at very regular intervals.

Ref Bath itself, depends on your budget but i would recomend the following based on location to the Rugby ground and the nightlife (remember, Bath is a University city and thus very lively)

    Best Western Abbey hotel
    Tel: +44 01225 461603

    Holiday inn Express
    Tel: +44 (0)1225 303000

    Hilton Bath city
    Tel: +44 (0)8705 515151 / +44 (0)1225 463411

Mercure Bath Francis Hotel (very good)
    Tel: +44 (0)1225 424105

Other than that, try Bristol in the Welshback area as this is near the Bristol templemeads station and you can literally hop on to a train to bath for a few quid and it takes about 15 minutes

Bristol is far more livelier in the nights and a great place to be (thereagain, nothing wrong with Bath)

By then The Welsh will be World Champions...............

                      Try this place:

If you're out on the lash in Bath, you're not going to want to trapse all the way back to Bristol afterwards. Best to persevere until you find somewhere.

Plenty of places rent out apartments for the weekend, too. Cost isn't too bad once you divide it up.

                      Cheers,

                      Simon

whatever part of Bath you're in, avoid the tap end
                        .
